SRB2 Vita is an unofficial port of Sonic Robo Blast 2, a 3D open-source Sonic the Hedgehog fangame built using a modified version of the Doom Legacy port of Doom. SRB2 is closely inspired by the original Sonic games from the Sega Genesis, and attempts to recreate the design in 3D.

SRB2 Vita was initially developed by Rinnegatamante and the compiled version was later released by DerpyBubblez. It is based on SRB2 2.1.20, which serves as the base of the 3DS and the initial Switch ports. As this is an older version, many improvements to OpenGL aren't available, which results in rendering issues on levels as well as the introduction.

Installation

Install srb2-vita.vpk using VitaShell, then rename + replace the eboot.bin located at ux0:/app/SNCRBBLST/ with one of the bin files from the archive.

Place the files from srb2_data at ux0:/data/srb2vita.

Notes:

  • This is a beta where you cannot complete all levels. Included in the data package is a fully complete save file that will allow you to use level select and other cheats.
  • Configuration files are located at ux0:/data/srb2vita/srb2.
  • Addons can be loaded using autoexec.cfg.
  • The game takes some time to load (~1 min).

  • Feb. 11 - 13:52 - This is the first build using VitaGL as a renderer in place of the game's standard OpenGL implementation. Runs at Vita's native resolution (960x544).
  • Feb. 11 - 06:57 - This is a build updated with fixed controls.
