Sloynik is a homebrew for reading StarDict-dictionaries on PSP.

It was submitted to the PSP-Hacks.com Homebrew Competition 2007.

User guide

StarDict dictionaries contain the following files:

  • .ifo
  • .idx(*.idx.gz)
  • .dict(*.dict.dz)

Sloynik uses the par.txt settings file located in the res folder, par.txt format:

  • The first line specifies the desired font color and size (this option can be skipped). The color is in hex ABGR.
  • The other lines are the path to the dictionaries and the names of the keyboards that are used to enter words in this dictionary.

The virtual keyboard contains the following files:

  • somekeys.png
  • somekeys_s.png
  • somekeys.txt
  • To set key values in the Danzeff virtual keyboard, use a UTF-8 encoded text file.

When reading a translation, it is possible to scroll through words, but it is not possible to select a dictionary.

The program comes with 2 converted dictionaries: rus-eng and eng-rus (Russian and English). You can use them as an example to add new dictionaries.

Controls
