This plugin comes with a Menu Installer, alternaitvely you can install the plugin manually.

There are 3 versions of PSPStates included, along with the core program (states_menu_pict_mod.prx) and installer (Eboot):

  • pspstates_kai.prx - Unmodified version by neur0n.
  • pspstates_kai_mod.prx - Mod version made by plum.
  • pspstates_kai_mod_umdid.prx - Mod version by LMAN (default).

You can switch between any versions by editing StatePlugin in states_menu_pict_mod.ini.

Install using Menu Installer:

Remove any pspstates.prx plugin from game.txt.

Copy the PSPStatesModInstaller folder to your PSP/GAME/.

Run EBOOT file from PSP using XMB.

You can choose to install (Cross) or uninstall (Circle) it completely (uninstall will remove the SAVESTATE folder if UsePSPDir is disabled).

Install manually:

Remove any pspstates.prx plugin from game.txt, also delete xx0:/seplugins/pspstates/ if you have it previously installed.

Extract and copy pspstates folder to your PSP seplugins path.

Open game.txt and append either one of the following line based on your device.

For PSP 2000/3000, add this line to the text file

ms0:/seplugins/pspstates/states_menu_pict_mod.prx 1

For PSP Go, add this line instead

ef0:/seplugins/pspstates/states_menu_pict_mod.prx 1

User guide

How to use

Open the menu in game using the combination key. After the menu appears select Local Save or Global Save to save state; Same as load state.

Alternatively you can use shortcut controls, without going through the PSPStates menu.

Savestates

Save states can be saved and loaded from ms0:/PSP/SAVESTATE/ (default) or ms0:/seplugins/pspstates/SAVESTATE/ (change path in the Config file).

  • Local savetates - Load/save states from within the same game/homebrew id.
  • Global savetates - Load/save states from any game/hombrew.

Local and Global save states share exactly the same format. If you want to convert one to the other, just change the filename accordingly.

You can save up to 9 slots for each Local Save and Global Save (18 in total).

Configuration

Settings can be customized in the states_menu_pict_mod.ini.

You can change the combination control keys, color settings for the menu, location for loading saves etc.

Notes

For faster operation, it is recommended that you set speed to 333 for game in vshmenu or recovery.

The size of the file may vary depending of the game, as it is a 36 MB dump compressed.
