PORTal243DS is a demake of Portal 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. Made in Unity.

Installation

Install the CIA file with FBI, GodMode9, or via QR code from Releases.

  • Ok, so this build works on O3DS (though it's still bug-ridden). We've got a new architecture for the chambers (from 660 triangles to ~50 triangles). We also have save data and two chambers. We haven't made a chamberlock yet, so there's just a hallway between two chamberlock doors (as is done in some larger chambers).

V0.-1.9

  • Finally, this should work on O3DS. This is not the final build for today, but I just wanted to get this out and tested before doing anything more.

  • I know you guys want O3DS support. I need to go through and compress all the images to jpeg and compress all the audio to ogg. That should bring the mem usage down enough to run on O3DS. I redid the portal implementation. It is now much less glitchy, and more importantly, is designed to allow anything to go through a portal, not just the player (not yet functional, though; currently only the player can go through a portal). I am also testing the max volume on the 3DS, so there's new music in the chamber. Next build, I would like to have objects going through portals, compressed assets, and perhaps some SFX.

  • Sorry, still no O3DS. CiaForgeX says I should have 80MB of RAM available on O3DS, but I only have 32MB, so... Anyways, I've done quite a few things since the last build. I don't have the time to list them all out. Sorry.

  • This build was very rushed (hence no FBI or QR code). Should have see through portals. There is a lot of distortion, though. Tested on N3DS hardware. Doubt it will work on O3DS.

  • Replaced baked lighting with real-time lighting, removed chamber door. Added touch screen features, should work on O3DS.

  • Added baked lighting, chamber door, companion cube model. Can press start to go back to main menu. Added debug FPS view (press X and Y).

  • Added icon, added banner, added banner audio, added title, added publisher, re-did portal physics, fixed HPD animation, added lights to HPD, added bootup, added main menu, added UI SFX, removed bottom screen debug graphics, fixed portal through wall, player now maintains velocity through portals, made 3D effect more intense (haha, doesn't fix the problem, but cool to know how to do it.), and Other things I'm forgetting.

  • This is very early in development (3 days). 3D is still a bit too intense. Added a companion cube, physics props, UI, and PORTALS!! Physics are completely redone, but still very buggy.

  • This is very early in development (2 days). Fixed going sideways when you jump. 3D is still a bit too intense. Updated layers to partially fix z-fighting. Added trigger volumes and SFX. New Chamber. New Textures.
