ReiCast port for the Nintendo Switch. ReiCast is a Sega Dreamcast emulator developed in part by some of the developers of NullDC.
It was stated that this version of was rushed to completion and contains a number of issues, one of these is that there’s no exception handling so texture invalidation isn’t working right now which may lead to some games having odd graphical issues.
On the other hand, ReiCast port has JIT (Just-In-Time compiler) support thanks to flyinghead which means that it can run at fullspeed and some games can even run at twice the speed.
Installation
Place the .nro to the /switch/ folder on the SD card.
You will need the BIOS files at:
- sdmc:/reicast/data/dc_boot.bin.
- sdmc:/reicast/data/dc_flash.bin.
ROMs go into the /reicast/ directory on the SD card.
The emulator's settings can be configured at /reicast/emu.cfg.
Note: ReiCast needs some memory (512MB+), so you have to run it with title override (launch a game/any game and press the R trigger to enter the HB loader).

The following games were reported to run fairly well by users in the release thread:
- Crazy Taxi
- Jet Set/Grind Radio
- Metropolis Street Racer
- Sonic Adventure 1 till Windy Valley
- House of the Dead 2
- Shenmue 1
- Dead Or Alive 2
- Virtua Fighter 3
- Spawn in Demon’s Hand
- Shadowman (menu issues)
- Chu Chu Rocket (there are issues in the Settings menu but the game itself is fine)
These games are said to not be functioning properly:
- Sega Rally 2
- Sonic Adventure 2
- Daytona 2001
- Phantasy Star Online 1
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (major texture issues)
- Windows CE-based games (not supported by ReiCast)
Other versions
- Recompiled build (2021/01/29) - By tabnk. Controller fixed. Tested on SX OS with FW 11.00.
