FAQ

Q. Does this hack have a Real-Time Clock?

Yes, it does. Some bonus/side chapters depend on it, but all the main chapters can be played normally even if you don't have access to it.

Q. I can't save! The game gets stuck in a white/black screen on bootup! Can you help me?

If you're using VBA, make sure that the Save Type is set to Automatic and Flash 128K in Options > Emulator > Save Type.

If you're using MyBoy! then you can achieve the same result by going to Settings > Advanced > Cartridge Save Type > Automatic.

Q. What do I do after getting the HM02 Whirlpool?

Go towards the east from Kinnow Island.

Q. I won the Kanto League, I won the Orange Cup, what now?

You have a few Lv255 challenges in Cerulean Cave, Valencia Island's Network and the Kantonian Gyms.

Other than that; you could try to complete the Pokédex as much as it is possible, play whatever bonus/side chapters you may have missed, and get all the items you forgot to pick up.

Q. When I use Teleport out of battle or an Escape Rope, I get sent to the weirdest places! What can I do?

Don't use it outside of battle. It's bugged. It's been bugged for a long time now.

Q. A cloaked person in Valencia Island's PokéCenter mentions an abandoned house in Sunburst Island, but the only thing there is the Crystal Onix cave! What do I do?

That bonus/side chapter is not playable. It will be properly implemented in the upcoming expansion of the Beta 15, as stated in the Special Updates Post linked above.

Q. Where can I get X or Y Pokémon or Legendary Pokémon?

Look at the Obtainable Pokémon List in the Guides Section.

If it or its preevolutions or evolutions are not there, there's a high chance it's currently not obtainable.

Q. Where can I get X or Y TM/HM?

Look at the TMs and HMs Location List in the Guides Section.

If it's not there, there's a high chance it's currently not obtainable.

Q. Are TMs in this hack reusable?

Yes.

Q. Does this hack have the Physical/Special/Status Split?

Yes.

Q. This move isn't doing Super Effective damage against that Pokémon! What gives?

Type effectiveness for this hack has been modified.

You have a table depicting its new modus operandi in the Guides Section.

Q. I need to go all the way back to Trovita Island and I'm currently in Kumquat Island, but I forgot how to get there. Help?

Go southwest until you reach Kinnow Island, from there go all west and then all north.

Once you reach Mandarin Island, take the ferry and that's pretty much it.

Q. There's moves missing in the Move Relearner screen. What gives?

It's a never fixed bug, unfortunately.

Q. I'm seeing items located in places that I have no access to, like behind some trees in Viridian City. Why is that?

It's a gift for the people who use cheats/gameshark codes.

Q. Are there costumes? How can I get them?

Yes, there's a few. Only 2 are obtainable besides the Default and FRLG Costumes that you start with though.

You can get a Team Rocket Grunt costume by simply playing the storyline.

You can get a Yukata by interacting with a guy using glasses in Floral City, which you can access by playing the Love Letter Bonus/Side Chapter.

Q. This costume lacks a back sprite! Red is not showing up! What gives?

The backsprites of various costumes were removed due to an unfixable problem with the sprite palettes.

'Q. Even though I'm holding the B Button and Red is running, he just looks like he's walking fast. Why is that?

Too many costumes, too many sprite frames to design, too much effort for little gain.

Q. Why can I not keep the Bicycle after the race in Route 11?

As per Aethestode's words; Too many animations and sprites to design, it looks weird on cutscenes and interferes with certain ASM Routines that this hack uses.

Q. When I use this costume, Red's mugshot/portrait doesn't change. Why?

The costumes only change your front sprite and overworld sprites.

Q. Dude, I completed the Kanto Pokémon League and revisited the gyms. The Gym Leaders have 6 Lv255 Pokémon! WHY?!

Endgame content. If you feel like you're not up to the challenge, train and try again at a later time. Using competitive strategies is also encouraged.

Q. I noticed that you can catch Shaymin after winning the Orange Cup and it mentions the Sinnoh Region! How can I get there?

Shaymin and the Sinnoh Region is a storyline that's planned for the hack, but it wasn't implemented yet.

Q. In the list of features up there you mention there's multiple regions, but are all of them implemented in the hack already, or...?

No, they're not. Currently, only the Kanto Region and the Orange Archipelago are implemented in the hack.
