POKE Mission 97 is a game reminiscent of classic block-breaking games like Alleyway, Arkanoid, or Breakout. However, the game has a unique twist: instead of breaking blocks, the goal is to shoot a ball from the lower platform to the upper one.

Features

  • Works on real Gameboy.
  • 50 levels.
  • Save-game option.
  • Music and soundFX.

User guide

You control the paddle at the bottom of the screen, press the button and you fire a ball. If the ball hits the moving "catcher" at the top of the screen five times, you advances to the next level.

Between you and the catcher there are some enemies trying to hit you or bounce the ball back at you. Resulting in that you looses one life. When you get 3000 points you will be rewarded with an extra life.

Saving your game

Just hit Start during play, this will pause the game and bring you to a menu looking like this:

      PAUSED
  -> CONTINUE <-
       SAVE

The Continue option takes you right back to the action.

The Save option saves the current game, the arrows will point at continue afterwards so just press button one more time to return to action.

Loading an old game

If a saved game position is present, a menu will appear right after the title screen:

 -> START NEW GAME <-
    CONTINUE SAVED
      (LEVEL xx)

Choosing the Start New Game option will begin the game from level 1.

The Continue Save lets you continue from your last saving (at level xx).
