Game Boy port of Hülsi, a single player puzzle game originally released for MS-DOS by RGH-Soft in 1990.

It was submitted to Bung's 1st Amateur GameboyTM Format Games Coding Competition and won third prize.

User guide

The objective of the game is to guide the player's character to the gate that leads to the next level. This gate opens only after all the balls have been collected.

The hero has limited power available at certain times, which can be used when the path is blocked by PÖPPEL or to deal with moving walls in other ways. For each blue ball (B) collected, our hero gains power to remove one PÖPPEL.

At times, crates (green and plain) that lie in the way need to be pushed aside. In some cases, these crates must also be utilized to shield yourself from the effects of MEDUSAS and FIREBIRDS.

The game ends when the last life is lost or when the final level is reached.

Enemies

PÖPPEL:

The green figures that block the way. they are harmless but annoying. With a little force they can be cleared out of the way.

FEUERVÖGEL:

As long as there is still a ball on the playing field, they are entirely harmless. However, once the last ball is collected, they awaken. There is no way to pass them safely then, as any attempt is deadly. Crates serve as an effective shield.

MEDUSEN:

These wake up as soon as the first orb is collected. They monitor all four cardinal directions. If the hero tries to pass over, next to, or under a MEDUSE, they will be hit by their deadly rays. Once again, properly placed crates offer protection.

MOVING WALLS:

There are red-yellow (R) and green-yellow (G) walls that appear and disappear at times. These walls have more color than the normal, stationary brick walls. However, their appearance and disappearance follow fixed rules: when a green ball is collected, the green-yellow walls appear, and the red-yellow walls vanish, and vice versa for red balls.

So, be alert: there might be walls in the game that are not initially present. Only the red-yellow walls are displayed at the beginning of the level; the green-yellow walls appear only after a green ball is collected.
