Successor to HomeBrew Sorter GUI. Sort Categories & Apps on PSP (Go) & Adrenaline (Vita). Includes alphabetize function(!), game title extraction, Game Categories (Lite) plugin in-app installation & configuration, support for ARK's full supported ISO family (ISO, CSO, CSOv2, ZSO, JSO, DAX), and file operations.
Note: The name of this app is a misnomer: it sorts all types of PSP apps – not just homebrew.
Features
1. Sort, Add, Delete, Rename, & Hide Categories in the XMB
2. Delete, Rename, Hide in the XMB (not ISOs), & Sort/Alphabetize Apps by Filename/Title
3. PSP Go Support (Memory Stick & Internal Storage)
4. Copy/Move Apps Between Category Folders or Storage Devices
5. Icon & Title Support for All ARK CFW App Formats (PS1, Homebrew, ISO, CSO, CSOv2, ZSO, JSO, DAX)
Installation
- Make sure you have a CFW installed on your PSP to run Homebrew apps like this one. ARK is the most modern PSP CFW.
- This homebrew also works on Vita's Adrenaline PSP emulator (both vanilla Adrenaline and ARK running on Adrenaline).
- Extract
Homebrew.Sorter.Ultimate.zipfrom the latest Release. - Copy the
/PSP/GAME/Homebrew Sorter Ultimatefolder to[Memory Stick]:/PSP/GAME. - Launch
Homebrew Sorter Ultimatefrom your PSP's XMB/home screen. - (Optional) If you want to file your PSP apps into categories (essentially folders) on your PSP's XMB/home screen, then enable the
Game Categoriesplugin by selecting your CFW version under theGame Categories:section at the bottom ofHomebrew Sorter Ultimate's main screen.- PS Vita: If you're running vanilla (non-ARK) Adrenaline, select
PRO/MEas your CFW. In order for theGame Categoriesplugin to start working, you may need to (temporarily) enableCategory prefixfrom theGame Categories Settingsscreen after selecting a Storage Device. (Or you can enable the setting fromSystem Settingsin the XMB.)
- PS Vita: If you're running vanilla (non-ARK) Adrenaline, select
- In
Homebrew Sorter Ultimate, select your Storage Device (Memory StickorInternal Storage) to view your PSP apps. - When
Game Categoriesis first enabled, your apps will be located in theUncategorizedcategory folder by default. Enable theUncategorizedcategory by going toGame Categories Settings, which appears at the top of the screen after selecting a Storage Device.
Known Limitations
- On PSP Go, you must run the app from
Memory Stickto accessMemory Stickstorage. - App file/folder names containing non-ASCII characters (e.g.,
™,Æ,®) cannot populate in the app. (Even thoughISOs with non-ASCII characters in the filename can still successfully boot from the XMB.) - On Adrenaline, the in-app
USB Modeis not supported. - On vanilla (non-ARK) Adrenaline, the
Game Categoriesplugin may require enablingSystem Settings>Category prefixfor it to start working. - On vanilla (non-ARK) Adrenaline and LME CFW, the
Game Categoriesplugin does not merge Category folders that share the same name across/ISOand/PSP/GAME.
Additional Info
- If you want different animations on the main screen, you can add your own animation folders with animation
.pngframes named with the same frame-duration syntax as in the existing folders. - You can change the app background by swapping out
/resources/bkg.png. - A personally-updated build of the Game Categories Lite plugin was created and is installed from within the app when you enable the
Game Categoriessetting. This upgraded plugin hides Categories (new feature) & Apps on the XMB by defining their exact folder paths (including theef0/ms0storage device on PSP Go)--instead of only hiding apps by listing their folder names.- Alternatively, you can still use a different
Game Categories Liteplugin version that you already had pre-installed, if you prefer. Just make sure it's installed on your PSP ascategory_lite.prx, and selectGame Categories>Use my own existing category_lite.prx pluginon the app's main screen.
- Alternatively, you can still use a different
Acknowledgements
- CMFileManager by joel16 was used as the base for this app to help with file operations and compiling with the modern PSP SDK.
- Thank you kathyrollo for the kind promo and thorough QA.
Changelog
1.26
- Increased heap size from 4MB to 16MB (oops.) (Thanks, @Eywa186!)
- This should prevent app icon load misses and memory-strain crashes, even in long app lists.
- This also eliminates the need for Low-Mem Mode (Removed).
- Refined wording in the Blacklist description modal and the Folder Mode warning message.
See the Github release history to view all changes.
