Gar/Zar (3DS) packer/unpacker is a tool that can extract/repack zar and gar containers from:
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (but not .gar.lzs files (if they are LZ compressed)).
User guide
Place zar.exe (gar.exe) and your .zar (.gar) archive at the same folder.
Unpacking:
- Drag your archive onto zar.exe (gar.exe):
- A folder with all exracted files will be created.
- *.index file with the name of the .zar (.gar) archive will be created.
- Edit what you want. Just be sure to keep original filenames.
Packing:
- Drag *.index file onto zar.exe (gar.exe).
- new .zar (.gar) archive will be created
- Name of the new archive will be the same as unpacked folder and *.index file.
- You can also specify a new name for the archive in .bat file, i.e:
- zar.exe <filename>.index NewFileName.zar
- gar.exe <filename>.index NewFileName.gar
