Like any homebrew application that uses the flash card, DSmaps must use the appropriate [http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/ DLDI driver] for your particular hardware device. If you are using one of the more modern devices (e.g. the R4, CycloDS, M3 DS Simply, etc.), the device will automatically patch (modify) DSmaps so that this is the case.
