Simple IOS Patcher is an updated version of the Trucha Bug Restorers, with its functions simplified and fixed. It is designed to patch the IOS of the Wii, enabling the use of current Homebrew Channels.

It only requires the HW_AHBPROT flag to be set and also works on the Wii's system menu 4.3. It supports IOS36, IOS60, IOS70 and IOS80.

Installation

Copy the sip folder to the apps folder.

It also requires the IOS file IOS36-64-v3351.wad. If you have your Wii connected to the internet the application will download it for you and then patch it.

Otherwise, you can download the file with NUS Downloader and place it to SD:\IOS36-64-v3351.wad.

Changelog

1.14

  • This version was compiled with devkitPPC r24 and libOGC 1.8.7.
  • The bug in the HBC when HW_AHBPROT is used and there is no WLAN connection has been fixed. Now there should be no more freezes.
  • Added ES_set_ahbprot patch, any IOS or other title loaded with an IOS with this patch now has HW_AHBPROT enabled.
  • At this point I would like to thank davebaol from gbatemp for his ideas.

1.13

  • All patched IOS installed with SIP come with additional information, such as, Base IOS and original version signed. This information can e.g. displayed by sysCheck.
  • Also added the AddTicket version patch to the HW_AHBPROT patches, this should fix the -1035 error when installing an IOS with SIP.

1.12

  • This version was compiled with the new libOGC 1.8.6. The code has also been optimized to prevent code dumps.

1.11 This version was compiled with the new libOGC 1.8.4. In the first two versions, there may be problems with USB media as the installation source. This should no longer occur now.

1.10

  • You can now also install the IOS in slots 11, 20 and 30.
    • IOS11, IOS20 and IOS30 are the system menu IOS of 2.0, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3, the current versions of these IOS are stubs and the older versions will not work on LU64+ Wiis (where boot2v4 is already installed at purchase). Now if you accidentally install an old system menu you have a brick.
    • This can be prevented by replacing the old IOS system menu beforehand, e.g. IOS80 replaced. This should theoretically work, but I haven't been able to try it as I don't have an LU64+ Wii, nor do I advise anyone to try it, it's just a precautionary measure.
