La Deuda (Spanish for "The Debt") is an interactive movie/game created by SoyKhaler using the Godot Engine. Originally developed for the Crowned Game Jam 2025 with the theme "TAXES", the game was made in less than 48 hours and has since been ported to multiple platforms including PS Vita and Nintendo Switch.
The game combines live-action video footage with interactive gameplay elements, allowing players to make choices that affect the story's outcome. It features tension and dark humor as players try to save a protagonist who has been kidnapped by a psychotic tax collector over a symbolic debt of €1.
Story
The protagonist has been kidnapped by a tax collector due to an unpaid debt. The player must make choices throughout the interactive movie to determine the fate of the characters. The kidnapper forces the protagonist into a dangerous game of Russian roulette to settle the debt, and every decision the player makes influences the outcome.
The game features multiple endings depending on the choices made during gameplay.
