Scratch Everywhere! for Nintendo Wii is a homebrew C++ runtime that brings most Scratch 3 projects to the Wii console, letting users experience visual coding creations on real hardware. It is tailored to run efficiently on Wii, supporting custom controls and project features for a range of Scratch games and animations.
Features
- Runs standard and TurboWarp-modified Scratch 3 projects on Wii hardware.
- Mouse input can be controlled via the Wii Remote and Sensor Bar for point-and-click interaction.
- Supports MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and WAV audio formats; streamed audio used for background tracks, though only one “Streamed Sound” at a time.
- Special Scratch Everywhere!-exclusive blocks provide unique project enhancements.
- Adjustable framerate if configured via TurboWarp during project export.
Limitations
- Only the first connected controller is supported for project interaction.
- Pen and music extensions, cloud variables (not yet supported, but planned), and several Scratch blocks (say/think, color, sound effects, most costume effects) are currently unavailable.
- If running Wii on PAL region, 50Hz display mode is required.
- Large images, extensive blocks, and many clones can cause slow performance or crashes due to hardware memory constraints.
Installation
- Download scratch-wii.zip from the Releases page.
- Unzip and place the apps folder inside the root of your SD card.
- Put Scratch projects into sdcard:/apps/scratch-wii/.
- Launch the app from Homebrew Channel on the Wii.
