LEGO Island Portable is a fan-made port of LEGO Island (1997) to the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV, based on the isle-portable decompilation project. This fork, developed by olebeck, brings the classic PC game to the Vita with a native GXM graphics backend.
Unlike OpenGL-based wrappers, the GXM renderer uses the Vita's hardware API directly, allowing the game to run more efficiently without requiring additional libraries such as libshacccg.suprx.
Features
- Faithful port of LEGO Island (1997) for PS Vita/PSTV.
- Runs using Vita’s native GXM backend for graphics.
- Does not require libshacccg.suprx.
- Based on the cross-platform isle-portable project, ensuring compatibility and modding support.
Notes
- An original LEGO Island CD-ROM is required. This project does not provide game assets.
- Continuous builds are mainly intended for developers, but the .vpk should work for general gameplay.
- Future updates from the main isle-portable project may merge this fork.
How to Install
1 - Download the build
- Grab the latest
.vpkrelease from the GitHub releases page (look forisle.vpkunder Continuous build). - Install the
.vpkfile on your PS Vita or PSTV using VitaShell.
2 - Prepare the game data (CD required)
- You will need an original LEGO Island (1997) CD-ROM to play.
- Insert the CD on your PC and copy the following folders:
From CD → To Vita D:\disk\LEGO → ux0:/data/isledecomp/DATA/disk D:\LEGO → ux0:/data/isledecomp/
(Using Windows path notation, where D:\ is the CD drive.)
3 - Optional configuration
- If you want to change the default paths for the game data, edit
ux0:/data/isledecomp/isle/isle.ini
