Mod Alchemist is an Ultrahand package designed for managing and converting mods on the Nintendo Switch.
Configuration
The package.ini file contains the following configurations:
Mod Management
- Toggle exeFS Patches: Toggles exeFS patches by selection.
- Delete exeFS Patches: Deletes selected exeFS patches.
- Toggle Content Mods: Toggles content modifications by selection.
- Delete Content Mods: Deletes selected content modifications.
- Search Pattern: Configure search patterns for mod groups.
- Enable All: Enables all mods based on search patterns.
- Disable All: Disables all mods based on search patterns.
Mod Conversion
- pchtxt → IPS: Converts pchtxt files to IPS patches.
- pchtxt → Cheat: Converts pchtxt files to cheat codes.
Each configuration includes a set of commands that perform the corresponding actions, such as moving, deleting, creating directories, copying files, and converting files into specific formats.
Obtaining Mods
To use the mods provided in the Mod Alchemist package, you will need to obtain them separately.
Place the mods into the appropriate folders within the Mod Alchemist directory.
Please refer to the shared documentation or additional resources to acquire the specific mods you are interested in. Once obtained, organize them as instructed within the 'Mod Alchemist directory.
Installation
To install Mod Alchemist:
- Copy the Mod Alchemist directory to
/switch/.packages/. - Ensure the mods are properly organized within the subdirectories as mentioned in the "Obtaining Mods" section.

- WARNING: Users must use Ultrahand Overlay v1.8.7 or higher for this package to work properly.
- Bug fixes for contents mods management.
- Management of contents mods were broken in v0.5.3 using Ultrahand v1.8.6, causing files to be moved to obscure locations.
- contents mods must be toggled off then on for proper management under the Active dropdown menu.

- An empty text file with the name of the title ID (and no file extension) is necessary within the folder for the IPS mod for the mods to show up in the Active dropdown menus.
- This is now generated automatically when converting .pchtxt to .ips format.
