A simple script to enable region-free functionality on your Wii U.
Note: IOSUHAX includes region-free support as of 20 Nov 2016, this tool is no longer required.
User guide
Included files:
- Modified wupclient.py.
- A tool to discover your Wii U IP address (Windows only).
- You can review the changes made by the script by opening sys_prod.xml (the new version) and sys_prod.xml.bak (the original version).
Requirements:
- Python 2.7 installed on the PC.
- A Wii U on firmware 5.5.1 EUR/JAP/USA.
- fw.img (sysnand or rednand) on the root of your SD card along with HBL and CFW Booter.
How to use:
- (Note: Reboot your Wii U if you've used the haxchi installer just before or after running this tool.)
- Boot your fw.img.
- Extract regionhax_installer_v1.0.zip into a folder.
- Double-click regionhax_installer_v1.0.py.
- Follow the instructions.
- After the program closes, reboot your Wii U.
Important notes/warnings:
Be very careful when selecting the region; it must match your console's region. The author is not responsible for any Wii U bricking. The script has undergone multiple tests to ensure safety. Do not modify the script. Reasons for possible brick:
- Wi-Fi or PC crash during file upload (0.1s).
- You modify the script for fun.
