Helium Boy Wii is a 3D platform game inspired by the Nintendo classic "Balloon Kid". It is a port of an older game that was developed for the author's final year project at the University of Skovde. The original game was created in 11 weeks using the Ogre3D rendering engine and was nominated for "Best PC-Game" in the Swedish Game Awards 2006. The Wii port and updated engine were completed in just over two weeks.
Gameplay
The gameplay involves flying with helium balloons, collecting stars, and avoiding obstacles like birds and flying ninjas as you navigate through the levels to reach the end. The game is compatible with the Wiimote + Nunchuck control setup and is only supported by the front SD slot. To play, extract the files into the "apps" folder in the root of the SD card, and launch the game from the Homebrew Channel.
