Hyena is an Audio Gamebook player for multiple platforms.

Inspired by the AudioBooks, Hyena allows game-books to be played with only sound and just one button. This makes it possible to play games without looking at the screen and while your body is occupied with other things, like driving or out running (or while sitting in class).

More information about this project can be found here.

Information on how to write your own audio-games can be found here.

Installation

Extract the whole archive into any folder and run Hyena.

User guide

On the Nintendo DS you can use the R or the L button, but those who prefer reading the text as well should use the A button, as it scrolls the text if needed.

It's also possible to play the game with your DS closed, but you need to plug in headphones to hear the audio.

As you progress through the game you will often be presented with multiple choices. By clicking the button one or more times you select the choice you want to make. In some games it's also possible to hold the button for a short time to access additional choices.
