Fire Emblem Engage Uncensored Patch is a text restoration mod developed by cris1010 for Fire Emblem Engage on Nintendo Switch. The project aims to reverse many of the localization changes introduced in the Western release, restoring dialogue accuracy, relationships, and character personalities to better match the original Japanese script.
Features
- Rewrites censored or altered lines to align with the uncensored Japanese script.
- Restores cut romantic supports and paired endings for over a dozen characters.
- Fixes altered support conversations, wake-up dialogues, emblem bond lines, and "memento" event text.
- Restores censored romantic dialogue and personality traits of characters like Rosado, Goldmary, and Fogado.
- Text corrections to remove localization inconsistencies (e.g., “fishing” changed back to “swimming”).
- Reintroduces censored words such as “man,” “woman,” and “tomboy.”
- Recovers original themes including romantic discussions, humor, and personality-based character interactions.
Notes
- Patch affects text only; there are no visual or gameplay modifications.
- Works with or without DLC and is fully compatible with the latest update (v2.0).
- Completely safe for use on emulators and CFW Switch.
- The patch modifies files in fe_assets_message/us/usen/ and can be easily customized by deleting or editing individual scripts.
Installation
- Download the latest v2.3 release (Regular or Cobalt version).
- For the Regular version: place the main folder from the .zip into your /mods directory.
- For the Cobalt version: install into Cobalt’s mod folder (see the official Cobalt wiki for setup details).
- Launch the game with text language set to “English (NA)”.
- Backup your save files before applying the mod.
