This naming method avoids problems with characters that aren't allowed in the FAT32 file system. Note that there's no on-screen message after pressing A, so it might look like nothing happened, but the file is dumped successfully.

This tool lets you dump SMDH files from your installed 3DS titles.

User guide

Just press A, and the SMDH file will be saved in the same folder as the .3dsx file. The files are named using the format: "High Title ID - Low Title ID.smdh"

This naming method avoids problems with characters that aren't allowed in the FAT32 file system. Note that there's no on-screen message after pressing A, so it might look like nothing happened, but the file is dumped successfully.

You can view, edit, or dump these icon files using marc_max’s SMDH tool or any other SMDH editor.
