Wiiload For Android is a port of JWiiload, designed for sending homebrew apps to the Wii or Wii U. It supports .dol, .elf, .rpx and .zip files for installation, providing a convenient option for users without access to a computer. The application is user-friendly and includes all the functionalities of the computer version, along with improved scanning capabilities and the option for a Wii to use a static IP address.

Requirements

As of August 2020, it also supports RPX files for the Wii U's HBL. The app requires an Android device with Jelly Bean or higher and Wi-Fi capabilities, and both the device and Wii or Wii U must be on the same network.

Usage

The app can be launched from intents or through its built-in file browser, which features image display, file type filtering, support for a home directory and new file support. The app checks for an active Wi-Fi connection and scans the network to locate the Wii or Wii U, typically returning the IP address in seconds if the Wii is on the Homebrew Channel. Arguments and port can be specified from the main menu. The application includes an ad at the bottom of the screen, but it can be disabled by entering "I love you" in the "Make New Folder" dialog.

Note

The app was previously available on Google Play but was removed due to a violation of the Device and Network Abuse policy. It can now be downloaded from the Releases page. This app is intended to make it easier to run homebrew software on a modded Wii console and does not perform any modding. Despite Google's claims, the app does not interfere with the user's device or any unauthorized services and the user's use of the app to interact with their own Wii device is a fully authorized action.

Changelog

v1.1

  • New build since the Google Play link was removed.
  • This should fix some issues with file access on some newer versions of Android.
  • Also adds support for RPX files for the Wii U HBL
