This work has been done by an anon from /hbg/ on 4chan.org/vg/ and not me! I'm just hosting it (unnecessarily). I've asked the original author about what license to use and he allowed me to use the GPLv2. Therefore consider each file to be licensed under the GPLv2, even if there is no disclaimer inside of each file. You will have gotten a copy of the license as part of the git and if not, get a copy from https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html. Original author notes: Source code for the fan-made port of Hydra Castle Labyrinth for 3DS Anything related to the PSP and Wii are unfinished. (Yes, it does look like a 3rd grader programmed this.) The game's originally done by E.Hashimoto (a.k.a. Buster). You can download some of his works under this link.

Before you continue reading, I'd like to mention that I'm not the author of this and merely posting it here for visibility. The author is an anonymous source from 4chan whose identity I don't really know.

Hydra Castle Labyrinth is a Japanese freeware PC indie game from the Metroidvania genre created by one E. Hashimoto also known as Buster.
It has since been fantranslated to English and so far can only be played on PC as it doesn't have any other ports.
Until now that is.

An anonymous author from 4chan who is a fan of this game and wanted to have it on the go as well as for his own programming educational purposes, decided to port it to 3DS, including the English fantranslation by GaryTheKrampus and some minor convenience tweaks of his own.
According to the author he doesn't plan any updates to this.

Source code is also included, though according to the author it's very messy and not unlike something that a 3rd grader would program.
Author didn't seem to object to this being shared or the source code being used since "maybe something good will come out of this" although "it's written so poorly only a retard would use it".
I'd make a GitHub repo for this but I'll leave that up for the community here if it deems it so.

Download includes a Homebrew Launcher compatible version in 3dsx format, a CFW compatible version in CIA format and also comes with the source code.

Gameplay video from the PC version:

I played the game a bit myself to see if the port is any good and it seems to have pixel-perfect visuals in addition to running at stable 60 FPS on my O3DS so I'd say it's pretty damn good.
My only complaints are that the author didn't seem to utilize 3DS' dual screen capabilities to for example add a map and item management features on the lower screen.
Hopefully with the source code available somebody will be able to implement that.

Author's Notes:
- This program uses DSP Audio. If you cannot hear any sound, download this app and follow the directions: github.com/Cruel/DspDump
- Save data can be found in sdmc:/3ds/appdata/HydraCastleLabyrinth

The goal was to recreate the game without altering the gameplay or feel of the PC game, but I have made a few small intentional changes:
- English language is available in the options menu
- Fixed English character graphics
- Two text lines in item text boxes
- Item text boxes do not disapear until you press a button
- Weapons can be toggled back and forth
- Weapons can be toggled while on ladders
- The blue and red gates open by hitting them with your sword
