Blocks Mania aims to bring you the best of two worlds: a challenging puzzle game from the past with the updated graphics and controls of the present all on your Nintendo DS. This game was also an entry into the Retroremakes 2008 Competition.

Palm users might recognise this game as their beloved freeware game, Vexed from a few years back but the history goes a little further all the way to 1989, when Taito released Puzznic. By mixing features from great old favourites - addictive puzzles, falling pieces, disappearing pairs might remind you Tetris and Sokoban amongst other classics - they managed to create something so fun and addictive that almost 20 years on it is still one of the best ways for the thinking player to test his puzzle solving skills.

Installations

2 versions are included:

1. No save => which works well on your emulator (tested with No$gba)
2. DLDI => which works on your Nintendo DS with a DLDI compatible linker.

You will need to patch this .nds file if your linker it's not auto-dldi patchable. Please make sure you do have the "kukulcan/" folder in the root of your linker or memory card for save files.

Gameplay

The goal is simple: you have to remove every block from the play area. Blocks will disappear if two or more of them touch sides with each other. The player can move blocks only left and right to adjacent empty spaces also taking gravity into account. That's all.

Known Issues

Using the Konami Code (cheat code) would take away all the money.
