Yahtzee DS is a port of popular dice game Yatzy on to the Nintendo DS platform. It is a homebrew game which accurately simulates the age-old dice game from Milton Bradley without the hassle of dragging along some clunky six-siders.

Yahtzee DS follows all the basic rules from the game it's based on and makes use of an intuitive interface thanks to the handheld's touchscreen controls. It also utilizes libnds for its 2D and 3D graphics library, as well as EFSlib for its backups.

This project was developed under the Eclipse with emulator NO$GBA.

Installation

  1. Download and extract file
  2. DLDI patch it depend on needs and copy it to the root directory of the card

NOTE that it has been tested on hardware via a linker R4 and everything worked fine without patching. The best scores are saved.

Under the backup emulator highscore does not work.

Objectives

Get the highest possible score by adding up the corresponding points gained through certain dice combinations.

User guide

The game consists of several rounds. Each round consists of two shots.

It throws the first pitch by selecting "run" on the touch screen. The red dice are blocked while the green dice will be relaunched in the second run.

Make the second start by choosing "restart" and then "run". The dice are not locked and get a new value.

Once there, choose among the two pages (accessible via the small arrows) the score that you want to fill. If it does not match the combination, then the score is set to zero.

The game is over once all the scores of the two pages are filled.

The M icon provides access to a menu during gameplay.
