Saints Row: Undercover is a PSP game developed by Volition Game Studios. Due to various reasons, the project had many pauses until it was finally cancelled.

In January 2016, Volition have decided to release the game prototype through its Twitch stream and bring to light what they managed to do before the game was cancelled.

Installation

The prototype for Saints Row was found on a DVD-r, since that was one of the ways you could test things on PSP kits. The problem is, PSP kits like to boot a different file, namely the boot.bin file, instead of the eboot.bin of a retail unit.

To run it on Custom Firmware, you need to edit the ISO with UMDGen, delete the EBOOT.BIN file, and rename the BOOT.BIN file to EBOOT.BIN, save the uncompressed ISO and play on the PSP.

On the other hand, the ISO is functional in PPSSPP emulator without modification.

User guide

The idea started with said game being a port of Saints Row 2, but due to console limitations, the project had to be re-started from scratch, giving rise to a completely different game, its story would take place between the events of the Saints Row 1 and 2, where player would play an undercover cop in the Saints in order to take them down.
