|title=ScummVM for NDS
|image=Scummvmds2.png
|description=An emulator that allows you to run certain classic point and click adventure games on PC.
|author=ScummVM Team
}}
ScummVM allows you to play classic graphic point-and-click adventure games, text adventure games, and RPGs, as long as you already have the game data files. ScummVM replaces the executable files shipped with the games, which means you can now play your favorite games on all your favorite devices.

Many of the famous LucasArts adventure games, such as Maniac Mansion and the Monkey Island series, were created using a utility called SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) and the VM in ScummVM stands for Virtual Machine.

ScummVM is written in such a way that it can be ported from one type of machine to another, and ScummVM DS is a port of ScummVM to the Nintendo DS handheld games console.

Features
* Major rewrite since the last official release for the DS port v1.2.1.
* Should now work out of the box with TWiLight Menu++.
* Full button remapping.
* Supports games with 16-bit colour.
* Provides a single build with support for all 320x200 games.

Installation
Note: ScummVM does not include any games. To play one of the supported games you will need to have your own copy of the game and add it to ScummVM.

Extract the archive and copy the extracted scummvm.nds file onto the SD card. The exact location is not important.

Transfer game folders onto the SD card, you can find a list of required data files for each game from the wiki entry for that game (read more).

For ease of use, you can create a dedicated games folder into which folder containing game files can be copied. The resulting directory structure will look somewhat like this:

ScummVM Games/
|-Day of the Tentacle/
|    |-MONSTER.SOU
|    |-TENTACLE.000
|    |-TENTACLE.001
|-Flight of the Amazon Queen/
|    |-QUEEN.1
|    |-queen.tbl

User Guide
Supported games
While ScummVM was originally designed to run LucasArts' SCUMM games, over time support has been added for many other games.

You can find a full list with details on which adventures are supported and how well on the compatibility page. ScummVM is continually improving, so check back often.

Some games are available for free on ScummVM's game downloads page. For other games see where to get the games.

Note that games requiring a resolution of 512x512 or higher are not supported for the DS version.

Audio
Supported audio file formats:
* MP3.
* Uncompressed audio - The games run gaster using uncompressed audio files.

FAQ
Please refer to the FAQ section.

Known issues
Games requiring a resolution of 512x512 or higher are not supported on the DS due to hardware limitations.

Some games are not playable due to the slow CPU speed and limited RAM on the DS. If there are any games that run really slowly, this is considered a hardware limitation, not a bug.

}}
a7800DS is an Atari ProSystem 7800 console emulator, based on a7800DS by Alekmaul.

The goal for this particular emulator is to get as many games as close to perfectly playable as possible. Nothing else matters if the game won't run at near full speed with all the gameplay in-tact. Minor screen glitches or minor sound issues are secondary to making sure the game will actually run.

If you're looking for a highly accurate emulator for the 7800 ProSystem, try MAME/MESS. But if you're looking to enjoy some classic 7800 console goodness on your DS/DSi then look no further.

Features
* Most things you should expect from an emulator.
* Sound is good except for the few games that run below 60FPS.
* Add highscore.rom for 7800 High Score saving.
* Can run full speed on DSi/3DS. Slow on DS LiteP/Phat.

Installation
To use this emulator, you must use compatibles rom with a78/bin format.

Place the .nds file on your SD card and launch with Twilight Menu++ or Unlaunch.

If you want to run on a flash cart, it might work (recommend HBMENU to launch).

Note: It is strongly recommend you use NTSC roms. PAL ones have more scanlines and will render more slowly and since the sound core is tied to scanlines, the sound will be wrong.

User guide
When the emulator starts, click on the cartridge slot to choose a file.

High Score Saving
High Score Saving works if you have highscore.rom (exact name and case). This can be in /roms/bios/, /data/bios/ or in the same directory as the emulator.

Note that you must press the HSC button if you want to snap the Saved Scores out to the flash card. The high scores will also auto-save if you quit the emulator or select a new game.

Compatibility
The emulation of the ProSystem is tricky as there are several CPU-like elements that need to be emulated (6502, TIA, RIOT, Pokey Chip) and the DS Lite just doesn't have the horsepower to do it properly so only the smallest non-Pokey games will run (Asteroids, Centipede, Joust, Meteor Shower, Moon Cresta, Ms Pac Man).

The DSi will run most games at near full speed or beyond, with much higher emulation compatibility.

This is a NeoGeo AES/MVS emulator for the Nintendo DS. It can run all types of NeoGeo roms with some limitations.

Features
* M68000 cpu (cyclone).
* Z80 cpu (DrZ80).
* All forms of NeoGeo protection/encryption.
* Graphics.
* ADPCM audio.
* PSG audio.

Installation
Note: To use this emulator, you will need to prepare the compatible BIOS ROM (neogeo.zip).

Patch NeoDS.nds for your DLDI flash card (not all flashcards require patching).

Convert some NeoGeo roms (mslug.zip for example). NeoDS uses the same rom sets as MAME, make sure they work in MAME before proceeding.

Put all the roms you want to convert along with the bios together in a folder.

Copy NeoDSConvert.exe into the same folder.

Run NeoDSConvert, and it will convert all the NeoGeo roms in that folder. The converted roms will have the *.neo extension.

Copy the DLDI patched NeoDS.nds, and all the *.neo roms into the root of your flashcard.

User guide
* Run NeoDS.nds, the main menu should load, showing you a list of all the roms on your card.
* Use the arrow keys to select, and press start to choose a rom to load. You can load a rom without audio which will improve frame rate, but you won't get any sound (obviously).
* Once a game is loaded without audio, the only way to get audio back is to reload the game. Some games will freeze with audio disabled, so be warned.
* If you have a supported flashcard with external ram in the GBA slot (optional), NeoDS will use the extra ram to cache more data. This will improve the speed of some games, but is never required. The main gui screen will display the test SLOT2 if this feature is active.

NeoDS GUI:
* Video - Video can be normal or scaled. Normal is a cropped screen. Scaled shows the full screen, but scaled down to fit.
* CPU Clock - The NeoGeo cpu can be underclocked. Experiment and see (it is easier for NeoDS to emulate a slower cpu, and some NeoGeo games don't use the full cpu power anyway).
* Screen Off - The lower screen can be turned off. Touch anywhere to turn it back on.
* Load rom - Load a new game.
* Save - Write the current configuration and sram to the flashcard.
* Input - Remap the input.
** The input configuraiton screen is a grid. DS buttons are down the right side of the screen. NeoGeo buttons are along the top of the screen.
** Each row of boxes coorisponds to one DS button. Putting a check in a box maps a NeoGeo button to a DS button.
** You can map multiple NeoGeo buttons to a single DS button this way, which can be useful for fighting games, or for other things.

Compatibility list
A list of tested ROMS can be found in the discussion thread.
StellaDS is an Atari 2600 console emulator for the DS/DSi, based on AlekMaul's StellaDS.

This is the Phoenix Edition with improvements of speed, compatibility and accuracy to the emulation on the DSi. It also added new features such as instruction manuals and high score support.

Features
* High level of compability to make games playable.
* Paddle and Keypad emulation is included.
* Improved emulator core for better performance:
** Most games you remember fondly run nearly full speed on a DSi in native 133MHz mode.
** For the older DS-LITE and DS-PHAT, only the more simple games are going to run close to full speed.

Installation
Note: To use this emulator, you must use compatibles rom with a26/bin format.

DIDL patch the StellaDS.nds file depending on the flash card (if it does not have auto-patching).

Copy it into a directory of your flash/(micro)SD/MMC card.

Put the a26/bin files where you want on your flashcard. If you are using Twilight Menu++, you may need to rename the .bin to .a26 in order to use.

User guide
When the emulator starts, click on the cartridge slot to choose a file.

Use Up/Down to select a file, then use A to load it.

Supported ROMS
See Comatiblity.txt for the list of the supported ROMS.

Generally these are going to be NTSC No-Intro roms (mostly developed for American market in the early days of video games).

PAL roms (that were later ported for Europe market) may cut off at the bottom of the screen and may not run at the right speed.

In other words while PAL is supported, you are generally going to get the most genuine Atari 2600 experience with NTSC roms.

Controls
D-Pad - Joystick

A/B/Y - Fire button

Select - Atari Select switch

Start - Atari Reset switch

X - Show FPS (Frames per Second)

L - Toggle Full Speed (no trottle to 60FPS)

R+D-Pad - Shift display offset in the D-PAD direction

L+D-Pad - Change Scaling of the Y-Screen (Up/Down scaling only)

L+R+A - Swap LCD top/bottom

Use Stylus on buttons for other actions on bottom screen.

Known issues
DPC+ games can't be emulated, that requires a coprocessor running at 70MHz (more than the speed of an original DS).

Changelog
V4.7 2022/03/24
* New sound output core - no more zingers.

V4.4 2021/08/22
* Minor cleanups across the board. Improved AR cart speed by ~1FPS.
* Added horizontal stretch - use the Left Shoulder + L/R D-Pad.
* The Y button is now auto-fire.

V4.3 2021/08/09
* Massive overhaul of the non-bank-switched engine so now the older DS-Lite and DS-Phat will run many games at full speed.

V4.2 2021/08/02
* New overlay graphic for Star Raiders (plus manual).
* A half dozen odd games got their controllers straightened out.
* About 100 graphical tweaks for various games to make them look as good as possible.

V4.1 2021/07/28
* Found another 1-2% speed up in TIA rendering.
* Bumper Bash now plays correctly (you can use the shoulder buttons too).
* Kool-Aid-Man now plays correctly.
* Meltdown graphics improvements (but not fixed... but playable).
* Alpha Beam, Big Bird and Cookie Monster games all work with joystick controls now.

V4.0 2021/07/24
* Found another 3-5% speed up in TIA rendering! Official Frogger now at 60FPS.
* Press and hold L+R+A to swap LCD screens.
* Other minor cleanups and polish.
DLDI is the Dynamically Linked Disc Interface for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. It works as a part of libfat to allow homebrew programs to read and write files on the memory card inserted into one of the system's slots. It has also been implemented for GBA_NDS_FAT and DSLinux.

Mostly required for homebrew programs that rely on libfat to load external files (such as source ports and emulators), implement save/load features and record high scores for different flashcarts.

User guide
Supported cartridges
DLDI support is defined as, at a minimum, the ability to patch a .nds file for a specific cartridge. Virtually all cartridges support DLDI either officially or via third-party intervention. Most cart developers have advanced beyond manual DLDI patching in various ways, such as automatic DLDI patching. Some carts that are compatible with the interface include the following:

AceKard+<br>
DSLink<br>
DS-Xtreme<br>
Ewin2<br>
EZ-Flash IV<br>
DLDI patches for different flashcarts are available from the official site.

How to use
By default, homebrew that utilizes the DLDI framework will probably work on a specific device (the one the author uses) but can be patched to work with any device listed in the devices section.

Some devices will patch the homebrew for you automatically when it is loaded. Just try the ROM to see if it works with your device. If it does, then great. If not, you will need to patch the file before transfering it to your device. In this case, after downloading the DLDI-enabled homebrew, you need to patch the .nds or .ds.gba depending on what device you are using.

First you need to download the DLDI driver patch for your device. Go to the devices section, find your device and download the .dldi file.

Next you need to obtain a patcher that can run on your computer's operating system. Go to the tools list and download your prefered tool and follow the given instructions.

Once you have patched the .nds or .gba file, you can copy it to your memory card and run it from your DS.

DLDIrc
Alternatively you can use DLDI Right Click (DLDIrc) written by PsychoWood.

It is an automatic DLDI patching program that adds itself to your right-click menu for .nds and/or .gba files.

The programs installer includes most DLDI driver files for most flash kits, allowing you to click any .nds (and also .gba or .bin, if you wish) file within Windows and patches it with the DLDI file of your choice, without the needs to download the DLDI patch files separately.
NitroGrafx V0.6 is a PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 emulator for the NDS written by FluBBa, it can also emulate some of the (Super) CD-ROM^2 & Arcade Card.

Installation
Note: You will need to prepare the compatible BIOS images in order to use this emulator.

Download and extract file. Depending on your flashcart you might have to DLDI patch the emulator file.

You should also create a NitroGrafx directory either in the root of your card or in the data directory (eg h:\NitroGrafx or h:\data\NitroGrafx).

Put your games on your flash card, max 512 games per folder. Filenames must not be longer than 62 charsacters. You can use .iso files or .bin/.cue files.

User guide
Loading CD-ROM games
Select a CD-ROM System rom from Options> Machine> BiosSettings> SelectBios.

Select a .iso file or a .cue file from a bin/cue combo.

Press the Start button when the CD-ROM System screen shows up.

Right now NitroGrafx supports loose .iso files for games that only has 1 data track (or 2 where the last one is a backup), or bin/cue files for complete cd rips.

Additional notes
You can rip your own CDs with program such as Cdrwin. If you already have your games make sure to check the rip with TocFixer, and test them on audio player (.wav) and virtual CD device (.cue)/ mount it in a virtual CD device and run in an emulator like Ootake (.bin/.cue).

Also note that all games are not perfect (a lot of US games doesn't work because they are encrypted, use PCEToy or the emulator Ootake to decrypt these before you use them). And don't use overdumps as these are evil on PC Engine.

Controls
L+R or Touchscreen - Access GUI

Close/Open DS - Sleep mode/resume emulator

Known issues
The games that have severely lagging cutscenes tend to be the ones with major graphical errors, such as Emerald Dragon. One of the times I tested Mystic Formula tonight, the first in game cinema went at a perfect 60 FPS, but upon a fresh boot, went at the usual 55-58.

If you restart your DS, loading the savestate does not work. Savestate is only for the data, not CD audio position, but that's OK. Just don't do a savestate during a cutscene.

This emulator has come a long way in such a surprisingly short time! A large number of CD games are thoroughly playable, with only minor glitches in cinemas, and little to no slowdown.
